Xiamen, Gulangyu Island
Hey Cuties!
Most of the shootings here have been in studios, but on Wednesday I flew to South of China, Xiamen. From there I went to Galungy Island, what is one of the most popular vacation spots in China.
The weather have been so misty and grey, so it was so Amazing to see sun again. Such a breath taking view from the plane.
I arrived to Gulangyu in the eavning so it was dark already, but still so magical. After I put my stuff to the hotel I went to have dinner with my client. I have to say it was so overwhelming. After all that winter what have been everywher, there I was having dinner in the beach. Because its seaside most of the traditional dishes are seafood. Everything was so Delicious!
So here is the thing about Chinese traditions, nobody never gets their own meal or plate. Usually they have their main meals with group of friends and family, nobody never eats alone. They order ten different dishes what are placed in the middle of the table and everbody crab what they want to their plate. This kind of tradition is almost everywhere in Asia. Having a meal is social event and its all about sharing!
After dinner we all went for a walk together around the Island. Its really old province and a lot of architecture have western influence. Little streets with shops and cafes were so cute. Also everywhere was little food stands with local seafood and veggies, what they grilled front of you. This little village had such a great atmosphere. It was really calm, but same time it had so much energy and really enjoyable vibe.
Next morning my day started 6am and from 7am I already started my make up. 8 hours of shooting was waiting for me. At first everything were really fun and enjoyed to work with this photographer really much. It was so easy going job, but when I was already passing my 6th hour of shooting summer clothes outside with 7C it started to get really hard. I was literally frozen. My skin colour turned into purple blue. But I did good two hours more, so I have to say that Im really proud of myself that I was able to do it that long. If I had to do it longer than 8 hours, Im pretty sure I would be able to move any more. And thanks god my immune system is strong enough and I didnt got sick, Cheers!
After my job my client was sweet enough to give her furry jacket to me and so I went to enjoy hot Cinnamon Coffe and wonder around the Island.
Enjoy Life, Travel, Eat Good Food and Learn about Different Cultures!!
